HERO Operator Killed during Truck Accident

Tragedy struck on the Metropolitan Parkway last week claiming the life of a Spencer Pass, 45, of Jonesboro.

Pass was working as a HERO operator that was helping a motorist around 10:30 a.m. when his truck was hit by another truck pulling a trailer. This secondary accident is responsible for taking Pass' life. According to GDOT officials Pass had been working as a HERO operator for just under three years.

While all of the details have not yet been released, it is known that the other drivers were taken to local hospitals with injuries unknown. The trailer attached to the second truck overturned in the roadway and was attended to by emergency personnel.

Officials with the GDOT say that this is the first death of a HERO operator since the inception of the program in 1995.

If someone you love has been injured or even killed in a truck accident, it is time to hire a personal injury lawyer who can help.
