Fatality Strikes at Workplace

A workplace accident turned fatal when a man was struck in the head by a metal crossbar while on the job last week.

According to police records Allan Michael Leschshyn, of Stony Mountain, was working on a team dismantling a structure at the Wuskwatim Dam when the crossbar fell, striking him in the head. Emergency medical responders rushed to the scene but were unable to revive him.

The incident is still under investigation by Manitoba Labour and Immigration as the RCMP.
