Police Investigating Car Accident That Led to One Woman's Death

Police in Suffolk, Virgina are currently investigating a car accident that killed a woman from North Carolina. Niki Naus, 31, of Winston, was driving on Sunday when, just after noon, her car ran off the road. She was traveling southbound in the 7100 block of Whaleyville Boulevard when the accident occurred.

Police spokeswoman Diana Klink says that her car swerved back onto the roadway briefly before leaving it again, only to crash into a tree.

The young woman died at the scene.

At this time police are not giving a cause for the accident. However, they do not believe that weather was a contributing factor in the vehicle accident.
