“Low T” Treatments Lead to Cardiac Arrest and Other Dangers

In recent months, low testosterone therapies have become a serious concern as more and more men who undergo the therapies are experiencing serious side effects. There are increasing the number of lawsuits targeting a variety of different manufacturers that offer these medications. Reuters reports that a public advocacy group is currently petitioning the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to put a warning on the drugs which will warn that the medications can increase the risk of heart attacks and other cardiac dangers. Many want this to be a "black box" warning, which is the most serious type of warning in these cases.

Many patients have suffered heart attacks and strokes after using these drugs to boost their testosterone. Pharmaceutical drug manufacturers allegedly tested the drugs but did not warn patients about the risk of heart attack that comes with the therapy. Anyone who has suffered an adverse health effect from low testosterone therapy is encouraged to sue the manufacturer of the therapy immediately in hopes of seeking compensation. At present, there are a variety of class action lawsuits (lawsuits filed by a collection of people suffering similar ailments) that are being filed against the manufacturers. In cases where the patient has passed away from the drug, family members have the opportunity to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the company.

Some of the different low T treatments that can cause cardiac arrest are:

  • Testim
  • Fortesta
  • Bio-T Gel
  • Striant
  • AndroGel
  • Axiron
  • Depo-Testosterone
  • Testopel
  • Androderm

If you have suffered cardiac problems don't hesitate to talk with an attorney about the opportunity to file a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company that created the therapy that resulted in your condition. Talk with a local personal injury lawyer today if you want more information!
