Injury in Tractor Trailer Collision with Truck

The Niagara County Sherriff's Department has begun investigations into a local accident that occurred on Wednesday, February 29th involving a tractor trailer and storage truck in Buffalo, New York. As of now, it remains unknown as to the cause of the recent collision; however, reports have been made which indicate that the accident has left one person (the tractor trailer driver) suffering from injuries. He is currently being treated for his injures at a nearby hospital and police investigations are now underway to uncover the source of the accident.

Immediately following the accident, the HazMat team of Niagara County was on scene to assist in the cleanup of the dense fluids which were emitted and spilled by both vehicles involved in the collision. Already reports have been re-released by officials looking at the number of similar accidents which have occurred in recent years. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has on record that the number of fatalities involved in large truck accidents such as that described above rose from 2009 to 2010 and more than 100,000 victims of car accidents throughout the U.S. suffered injuries of some sort. The number of accident injuries reflects an increase just shy of 2,000 from that of the previous year.
