Three People Injured in Crash involving Patrol Car

By Law Offices of Gerald L. Marcus October 23, 2013

Three people were injured recently when a pickup truck and a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department patrol car collided. The crash happened at around 10:00 at night when the deputies were responding to a call concerning a nearby traffic collision. The deputy driving the vehicle turned on the sirens and emergency lights and proceeded to the accident location. They approached an intersection, slowed, and then proceeded through it when a Chevy pickup truck collided with the patrol car. Both cars were severely mangled due to the force of the impact. Fire rescue and additional emergency services arrived at the scene and worked to free the officers and the driver of the pickup. The wreck was so bad that fire fighters had to use the Jaws of Life to pry apart each vehicle to gain access to the seriously injured occupants. Both of the officers were airlifted to the LA County – USC Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the pickup was also rushed to a local hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident and the current status of the deputies and the other driver were not reported. If you were hurt in a car accident that was not your fault then you should speak with a personal injury attorney to discuss your options for obtaining compensation.

Car accidents are all too common in the busy, high traffic regions of LA and many people are seriously hurt in crashes that were caused by someone else's negligence or blatant recklessness. Whether you were injured while in your personal vehicle or were driving a car or truck as part of your work duties, you deserve to be compensated for your injuries by those liable for the accident. Drunk drivers, distracted drivers, speeding, mechanical defects and any number of circumstances could result in an accident leaving victims with pain, expensive medical bills and other financial difficulties.
