Coroner Calls for Safety Measures after Fatal Trucking Accident

A truck driver was killed recently when he lost control of his vehicle at a sharp curve in the highway. The semi pulling a tractor trailer over turned and the trucker died at the scene of the accident. The highway has a sign a distance before the sharp curve indicating that there is a 9 ½% downhill grade but there is nothing warning drivers about the turn. Neighbors in the area say there have been many wrecks at that turn, especially when drivers speed down the hill and are unfamiliar with what lies ahead. There have been a total of 20 reported accidents at that location in last 10 years. After the most recent fatal trucking accident the local coroner is calling on PennDOT (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) to put up a clear warning indicating to drivers that there is a sharp curve ahead in the highway after the steep grade.
