Are Your Snacks Safe? Big Bakery Mislabels Batches of Cookies

The US Food and Drug Administration have issued an urgent press release for the recall of certain products made by Sienna Bakery, owned and operated by Best Maid. The company has admitted to having mislabeled certain batches of cookies.

During the past month, Sienna Bakery had released certain variants of Oatmeal-Raisin and Walnut cookies, mistakenly packaged as White Chocolate-Macadamia Nut Cookies. This manufacturing mishap fails to warn buyers of a potential walnut allergen.

Consumers with severe allergies or hypersensitivity to walnuts may have hives around the face, swelling and vomiting, within minutes of ingestion. In severe cases, a person may experience asthma attacks and low blood pressure which may rapidly regress to anaphylaxis or a serious state of shock from exposure to said allergens.

The said products have been sold in a number of states including Florida, Illinois and Ohio in the past six weeks and distributed almost exclusively by Gordon Food Service. Buyers are advised to bring these cookies and present their receipts for a full refund.

If you or anyone you care about has been harmed by a product that clearly fails to warn, or a product that is not safe or one that has a major design flaw, you may be a victim of personal injury. Personal injury lawsuits encompass a wide variety of conduct by individuals, manufacturers and property owners.
