Car Accident Investigation Halted by Speeder

An officer investigating a car accident was distracted when another vehicle flew by, clearing exceeding the speed limit.

According to the officer, he then attempted to flag the car down with his flashlight. When that did not work, he started to yell at the vehicle to slow down. When the 44-year-old male driver finally did, the officer quickly determined that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol.

As the two were speaking, the suspect then became agitated, becoming mildly aggressive before walking away from the officer. However, the officer quickly took him into custody and brought him to headquarters.

Once there, the man was asked to complete a breath test, which he failed miserably. The driver was charged with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. While he did not have to spend the night, he will have to appear in court to answer to the two charges against him.
