55-Year-Old Victim of Auto Accident

Authorities are investigating the tragic death of a 55-year-old man who was struck by a passing car on the shoulder of a freeway after helping a friend change a flat tire. The man was apparently walking back to his car along the shoulder of the freeway when a driver in a passing car allegedly drifted into the right shoulder. The driver struck the man's parked car and the man. The accident also sent debris into the air which struck the man of the car that had the flat tire.

The man who was driving immediately stopped his car, causing a three car pileup behind him. No serious injuries were reported as part of the pileup, but the man who was struck by the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The man who had the flat tire was taken to a local hospital with multiple cuts on his head.

The driver who struck the man who was killed has not been charged with any crimes though he may face charges of negligence or possibly a wrongful death lawsuit.
