83 Year Old Rushed to Hospital after Bike Accident

It is important to wear your helmet while bicycling, as one man learned in Gulfport this week.

The 83-year-old man was out riding his bicycle when he failed to yield to traffic and was struck by a car. He was quickly taken to a local hospital; he is still hospitalized but is in stable condition.

According to Deputy Police Commander George Chaix, the collision occurred just west of the intersection of Cowan Road and U.S. 90. Neither the driver nor the bicyclist's identities are being released at this time. No charges have been filed against the driver, nor does Chaix believe there will be in the future.

Hurt during a bicycle accident?  Don't wait to have your case reviewed by a personal injury lawyer near you.  In some cases, you may be allowed to file a lawsuit to collect compensation for your injuries, medical costs, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more.
