Hit and Run Driver Hurts Mother and Son

In Morrow, Georgia, police say they have found a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run accident that left a seven-year-old boy with serious injuries.  Officers say the accident took place on Monday evening and the vehicle was located in Forest Park.

Police Captain James Callaway said witnesses at the scene saw a Lexus crashed into the back of a Mercury Sable that was stopped at a traffic light on Jonesboro Road.  Witnesses provided officers with a license plate number, which was traced back to 38-year-old Gustavo Franquez.  Later that afternoon, police tracked down Franquez, who told them he recently sold the vehicle to his brother, 34-year-old Alvelaro Franquez.

Officers say that two people inside of the Sable were injured.  37-year-old driver, Latarsha Jagne suffered a neck injury and is recovering.  Her son, seven-year-old Damian Dennis, suffered fractures to his face and is also in the hospital.
