Mother Shot Dog After it Attacked her Children

In Orange County, a mother had no choice but to shoot a dog that was attacking her children in their front yard.  The incident took place on Wednesday and thankfully, no one was seriously injured.

According to police reports, the woman had two children ages 3 and 6 that were walking to their neighbor's home.  Suddenly, a boxer appeared and lunged at the 6 year old child.  The mother heard her child screaming and rushed outside holding her 1 year old.  She was accompanied by her 14 year old son and both witnessed the dog attack.

They told police that when they came outside, they saw the dog was on top of the girl and was biting her.  A neighbor tired to get the dog off, but was unsuccessful.  The 14 year old then intervened and began to punch the dog in the face.  The dog then released the girl but went after the 1 year old in the mother's arms.

At that point, the mother told everyone to get inside the house.  She then grabbed a 9 millimeter gun, stepped outside and then shot the dog in the chest.  She told police that the dog ran away after being wounded.  Police are unsure who the dog belongs to.

If you have been a dog bite or dog attack victim, you need to speak with a personal injury lawyer who can protect you from future harm.
