Car Accident & Wrongful Death Lawsuit Settles for $1.75 Million

On Wednesday of this week, a family finally settled their wrongful death lawsuit after losing their daughter five years ago during a serious car accident.  The family's lawsuit settled for $1.75 million.

The legal proceedings took place in Henrico Circuit Court and are reported to have lasted only a few minutes.  The family of the deceased, Jaimee E. Kellermann, had endured litigation for years against several defendants and managed to obtain over $2 million from their multiple lawsuits.

According to news sources, Kellermann died in December of 2004.  She and several of her friends had accepted a ride home from a movie theater when the accident occurred.  The Kellermann family alleged that the driver was reckless because the driver had been speeding when the car crashed into a tree, leading to the death of Jaimee E. Kellermann.

Kellermann was 14 years old when she died.
