In East County, California, it is reported that a drunk driver suffered serious injuries and four firefighters were hospitalized after an auto accident.  The accident occurred on Sunday at 5:45 AM and involved a Viejas Fire Department truck and a woman driving a 1998 Ford Contour.

According to reports, the crash took place outside of the Viejas Casino on Willows Road.  The California Highway Patrol says that the driver of the car, 25 year old Yesenia Mitra, was exiting the casino parking lot when she was hit by the fire truck.  A CHP spokesperson said, "She pulled directly out in front of the fire truck which had its emergency lights on."  The fire fighters were on their way to the casino to respond to an emergency call for help.

The CHP said the Mitra sustained a broken wrist and was taken to the hospital.  When she is released, she will face felony driving under the influence charges.  Four firefighters were also taken to the hospital complaining of pain.  Their condition is unknown at this time.
