How Can a Car Accident Lawyer Help You If You're A Hit-And-Run Victim

By David Zevan  Sep. 27, 2012 12:02p

In early September 2012, a man from Stony Point in New York had been accused of hitting 18-year-old twin brothers with his car before it crashed through a fence, the car then sped off. According to Police Officer Craig Long, the twins were brought to the Good Samaritan Hospital where one twin had remained hospitalized for back injuries. The other twin just had a minor foot injury and was already released from the hospital. Mathew A. Garcia, a 20-year-old guy, was charged for this hit-and-run accident.

Garcia was seen driving a 2003 Toyota Celica at the time the hit-and-run incident occurred. According to Long, everything was caused by a domestic dispute but he didn't elaborate because the investigation is not yet through. Mathew Garcia was with his car accident attorney when he surrendered to the police after the incident. Arraigned in Village Court, Garcia was indicted for 2 felony counts of assault, 1 felony count of reckless endangerment, 1 felony count of criminal mischief, 1 misdemeanor count of leaving the accident's scene with personal injury, as well as 1 misdemeanor count of reckless driving. The Village Court Judge set the bail for Garcia at $75,000 and he is to be expected in court on October 16.
