Police Woman Sues Over Thong Injury

By Williamson Law Firm  Apr. 1, 2011 7:06p

Although the incident happened four years ago, it is a perfect example of what can happen if not enough forethought or testing goes into a product and someone gets injured.  A 52-year-old traffic officer suffered cuts to her cornea while putting on a pair of thongs. Apparently, a decorative rhinestone heart which was on the waistband and was connected to the fabric by very small metal links, popped into her eye. She experienced excruciating pain and wound up with a total of three cuts in the cornea. The woman had not given an exact figure as to how much she was asking for in compensation, but did say it would be for at least $25,000.

Defective Products are Not Uncommon

Many people get injured or die each year from dangerous and defective products. This can be a result of negligence on the part of the designer, manufacturer, distributor or a combination thereof. It can even be the fault of someone who did a faulty repair on something. If you have been injured by a defective product in the Alpharetta or surrounding area, you should contact an Alpharetta personal injury lawyer to advise you on the matter. Medical bills can be quite expensive and you should not have to cover these expenses as a result of someone's negligence.

Competent Help is Available

At the Williamson Law Firm, we have successfully helped many clients with defective product injury cases and with our skilled investigation techniques; we can seek to determine the cause of the defect. In some cases, it can be a lack of warning labels on the product that result in injury to an individual. As an example, many lawsuits have been filed involving dangerous drugs (especially some of the highly promoted antidepressants) that failed to warn people of their side effects and caused irreparable damage or even death. We accept cases on a contingency fee basis meaning that if we do not win you a settlement or award, you owe us nothing.

Contact an Alpharetta defective product attorney in our office to set up a free consultation and we will go over the details of your case.
