A Connecticut man from Marlborough was charged last December when a teenager who attended a party on his property caused a DUI-related death. The man, P. S., is accused of allowing teenagers to gather and party using alcohol and drugs during the summer of 2013. After one of those parties, a 17 year-old girl was killed when teen driver of the vehicle she was traveling in lost control and crashed into a tree. The driver was a teen also who had left the party after drinking. His blood alcohol concentration was more than the adult legal limit in Connecticut, which is .08 percent. For those under 21, the legal limit in Connecticut is .02 percent.

P. S. was charged with 28 counts of both reckless endangerment and permitting underage teens to possess alcohol. His bail was set at $100,000. The teen driver who caused the DUI death was also charged with first-degree manslaughter, drunk driving, reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, false statements, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

P. S. allowed the parties to take place at a wooded section of his property when his teenaged son requested him to do so. According to many sources, however, he insisted that anyone who attended the parties stay overnight and not drive home. That, unfortunately, did not happen in the case of the driver who caused the death.
