Workers compensation is issued in several ways, but payment conditions may vary by jurisdiction. Employees who are injured on the job may be paid a certain weekly amount in lieu of wages, receive compensation for past and future financial loss, receive general damages for pain and suffering, or receive reimbursement for medical care and medical bills. Workers compensation benefits may also be payable to families who have suffered through the death of a loved one if the death was related to work accident.
