Toxic Torts
Toxic Torts
A toxic tort is a lawsuit that is brought against a supplier or manufacturer of chemicals that have caused toxic injuries. Companies that supply, manufacture, use, or dispose of dangerous chemicals are liable for injuries that are sustained by their employees, consumers, and third parties. Instances of toxic injuries are rare and they are not easy to prove. Common toxic injuries include exposure to asbestos and exposure to lead-based paints. Exposure to toxic chemicals can lead to a variety of physical complications, as well as wrongful death.
If a person sustains an injury due to exposure to dangerous chemicals, they may be entitled to compensation. Toxic tort lawsuits protect victims by allowing them to seek monetary compensation from dangerous chemical manufacturers and suppliers to cover things such as their medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
