Elderly Woman Gets House Arrest for Role in Accident

An elderly woman has been placed under house arrest for the fatal pedestrian accident she caused last year. She just recently apologized to the family of the victim for taking his life. L.P., 81, was driving in southern California when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. She drove into a crosswalk and struck B.Y. He lost his life at the scene of the accident. She appeared in court this week to enter a plea of no contest to involuntary manslaughter. Last year the judge sentenced her to house arrest and revoked her driving privileges. She will not be allowed to apply for a license for another three years.
