In The News Again: Lindsay Lohan Sued for Personal Injury Related to Car Accident

Lindsay Lohan, in a art imitating life moment, has been accused of being one of the distracted “Mean Girl” characters she played in film for causing “disabling and serious personal injuries” when her Maserati struck a woman as she walked in a marked crosswalk, as reported by The Associated Press for several main stream media sites.

The starlet’s sports car allegedly struck pedestrian, N.D.C.P., in the Hollywood area in September 2010.

The suit names Lohan for causing the victim personal injuries such as “pain, suffering and anguish.” Additionally N.D.C.P. is asking to be reimbursed for her past and future medical expenses, loss of wages and earning capacity, and the costs incurred with the suit.

Santa Monica-based attorney Gregory Picco represents N.D.C.P. Calls from press for comment from Picco were left unreturned.

The suit was filed on January 25 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Another pedestrian, G.B., filed a lawsuit earlier this month naming Lohan for similar damages. G.B., working as a paparazzo taking photos of the actress, has claimed that Lohan struck him in January 2010. In this incident it is unclear as to what vehicle Lohan was driving at the time.

In the incident with N.D.C.P., the victim claims to have been struck just south of the busy Sunset Strip. Lohan was known to reside near the same intersection, listed in the suit as Alta Loma Road near Holloway Drive, at that time.

A section of the lawsuit that is available online reads that Lohan “…(did) cause (her) vehicle to collide with plaintiff, and as a proximate result thereof, caused the…injuries and damages to the plaintiff.”

Steve Honig, Lohan’s spokesman, said the Lohan had not been served with the lawsuit – and her were attorneys were not served yet either – so they had no comment yet to make on the matter.

Lohan is currently on probation for a 2007 DUI case and for theft cases. After the initial drunken driving case, she was arrested twice more that same year on suspicion of DUI.

After one of these alleged DUIs Lohan was named in two other lawsuits. One case involved her giving chase to another vehicle; the other involved three men that were passengers in an SUV driven by Lohan. In the latter case, a trial is expected to occur sometime this March. Ed McPherson, the attorney for Lohan in that case said it was “absurd” because all three men had ample opportunities to leave the vehicle.

Recently Lohan complied with her court-ordered cleaning work at the morgue and has received two positive probation reports from officials. She is also attending therapy. A judge said that her supervised probation may be lifted by the end of March.
