Sheriff's Estranged Wife Mauled by K-9

The estranged wife of a Kern County, California sheriff has reportedly been attacked by a police K-9 in her home. According to reports, she was alone and sleeping in her bedroom when the dog attacked. The dog reportedly bite her neck, right ear and the side of her head. It is unknown why the dog attacked, but police believe it is because the woman did not announce herself as police were there to arrest her son on another matter. However, her lawyer is claiming she was sleeping so she is not to blame.
