Police Looking into Accident Involving Trooper

Police are still investigating the car accident that involved a state trooper speeding on a local highway. The officer struck a vehicle, killing the driver almost immediately. Friends and family of the victim are wondering why the police department has not charged the officer with causing her death. Although the North Carolina Highway Patrol is not releasing extra details about the investigation at this time, it is known that Officer A.S.S. was driving above the posted speed limit when the accident took place. The victim, M.S.L., 59, pulled out in front of him as she was leaving a restaurant parking lot. A video released by the police department shows that the victim's vehicle was moving slowly across several lanes of traffic before being struck by the trooper.

Shortly after the accident took place, the officer did admit to speeding. However, the department does not believe that speed is to blame for the auto accident. It states that the driver failed to yield the right of way to the police officer and lost her life as a result. Hurt during an auto accident? Now is the time to get a personal injury lawyer in your state involved in your case.
