Bicyclist Hit and Killed by Driver of Large SUV

Police have identified the young man that lost his life last week in Kearny Mesa. The victim, 29-year-old D.A., lived in Pacific Beach and was an avid bike rider. According to the police report, D.A. was heading west in an eastbound lane when he was struck by a large SUV. He was thrown off his bicycle onto the busy roadway and was struck by two more vehicles that were unable to avoid the bicycle accident. At this time, police do not believe that neither drugs nor alcohol are to blame for the incident. It is uncertain whether the first driver has yet been charged for striking the victim.
