Nursing Home Negligence Reported in Chicago

Another case of nursing home negligence hits the news circuit this week, this time in Chicago.

State officials have started to investigate a nursing home on the North Side of the city, Alden Village North, located on North Sheridan Road. This facility takes care of young people who have physical nad mental disabilities.

Reports show that at least 13 children have died while under the care of Alden Village North since 2000. They are all believed to be victims of negligence to some degree. While Governor Quinn had ordered several unannounced inspections over the last year, the Department of Health has finally decided to revoke the facility's license.

Since new owners took over the facility in 2008 investigators discovered eight serious violations during the following years. However a spokesperson for Alden North said that several significant changes have been enacted, including improvements in the ways in which patients are treated.  There are currently 90 patients that will be moved to other nearby facilities.

If your loved one was abused in a nursing home, now is the time to consult with a personal injury lawyer.
