Man Gets Less Than a year for Tragic Car Accident

Just under one year in jail is the prison sentence an Australian businessman received after killing a young woman last year in Hollywood.

Ryan Mathew Bowman, 34, agreed to a plea deal wherein he would serve 364 days in a private Los Angeles jail facility. He will also get four years probation and enroll in a nine-month alcohol education course once he has finished his jail sentence.

When Bowman went before Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox on March 2 he pleaded guilty. Bowman admitted to being behind the wheel of the Bentley that struck and killed Lauren Freeman, 21, as she was crossing Sunset Boulevard at Hammond Street on Nov. 10, 2010.

According to investigators Bowman fled the scene in his car but was later tracked down.

Bowman is the CEO of Zeal Entertainment, a company known for having a business partnership with Girls Gone Wild.
