Three Injured in North Carolina Accident

Tragedy struck in Whiteville last week when a woman lost her life and three more were injured in a car accident.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the vehicle ran off of the road and hit a tree. The driver and passenger were ejected from the car; Joanna White, the passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Jason Nicholas Perry, was transported to the UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill. The other two passengers, Kayla McKenzie and Leonard Wallace Herring, were brought to Southeastern Regional Medical Center. At this time, there is no word on their condition.

The responding officers are still investigating this car accident, and have yet to determine the case.
