Distracted Driver Blamed for Serious Truck Accident

You should keep your eyes on the road at all times, even if your iPod isn't playing the song you want to hear. One man learned this the hard way last weekend after causing a serious head-on truck accident that injured several people.

Officers in New Bern reported that the driver responsible for the accident, a 20-year-old male, had glanced down to look at his iPod when he ended up hitting a pickup truck in the opposing lane. Both vehicles were traveling on a well-known road at the time. The driver, along with his passenger, were transported by medical helicopter to a medical facility.  The third victim, a 19-year-old male in the truck, was brought to a different hospital for treatment.

The occupants of the pickup truck were seriously injured as well in the crash. While the driver and two of his passengers were brought to a nearby hospital, his wife had to be airlifted to as her injuries were of a more complex nature.

Truck accidents can lead to immense pain and suffering which is why victims of these types of accidents should consider hiring a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.  In some cases, victims can pursue damages which may alleviate some of their suffering.
