Firetruck Hit by Minivan

As a firetruck was racing down Metcalf Avenue responding to a call, it was struck by a minivan heading westbound.

Luckily for the occupants of fire engine 45 nobody was injured, some of the firemen were even alert enough to respond to the needs of the driver and child occupant of the minivan. The latter two were taken to local area hospitals and were deemed to be in stable condition.  However, both the minivan and the fire truck sustained serious damages.

The fire truck was on its way to a fire call at 151st Street where a car had struck an Overland Parks Public Works truck.  Another fire truck was called out to that accident after the first one was struck.
