Couple Found Dead after Motorcycle Accident

On Monday evening, two missing people were found dead by Kootenai County sheriff's deputies.  The two individuals were victims of a motorcycle accident in Hayden Lake.

64 year old Virginia L. Acker and 40 year old Gary E. Otterness of Washington were located 100 feet down an embankment.  Police say they were a short distance from where their accident occurred on Hayden Lake Road, which is near Rhapsody Lane.

Rescue crews from the sheriff's department and a helicopter from Spokane County searched numerous roads near Hayden Lake after the couple was reported missing.  The couple left Camp Mivoden on Saturday and were supposed to return on Saturday evening.

Police say the victims were wearing helmets when the motorcycle accident took place.
