3 Injured during Auto Accident in Raleigh

On Sunday, a woman from Prosperity was killed during a single vehicle auto accident.  According to police from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department, 25-year-old Nicholas Harris was driving a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse when the vehicle left the side of the road and crashed the wreck into a tree.

After the accident, 20-year-old Chessie McGraw, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Another passenger by the name of Loretta Davis was also injured and had to be rushed to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment.

According to police officers, all three victims had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency response crews.  At this time, the accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Department.
