16 Year Old Causes Drunk Driving Accident

A police chase ended with a stolen truck smashing into another vehicle in Saskatoon, reported police.  The driver, 16-year-old boy is now in police custody and faces numerous charges.

The accident stemmed from police attempting to pull over the truck after seeing that it was driving erratically on College Drive.  Police tried pulling the truck over multiple times, but it ignored the orders of the police and kept driving.

Police called off the chase when the vehicle reached unsafe high speeds.   Soon after the chase, the suspect crashed the stolen truck into another truck downtown and then attempted to run away from the scene of the accident.  The 16-year-old was subdued by several bystanders and held until police arrived.

He was arrested and charged by police with possession of a stolen truck, fleeing the scene of an accident, impaired driving and refusing a breath test.  The young man will make an appearance in court later this week to face the charges resulting from the drunk driving accident.
