Woman Found Dead after Dog Mauling

A woman was found dead in Moreno Valley on November 2 is believed to be the victim of a fatal dog mauling. Christina Casey, 53, was discovered in her backyard in the 22700 block of Aqueduct Way. Police responding to the crime could see that she had multiple dog bites all over her body, however, the police aren't sure as of yet who the owners are.

The police rounded up and quarantined several dogs in and around her neighborhood, including her own collie, as well as two pit bull Weimaraner mix dogs that are owned by her neighbor. A report released by the forensic dentist that oversaw this case shows that the bites on the woman were a match to the pit bulls in question. Casey's collie did not add to her injuries.

At this time Moreno Valley Police are sending this case to prosecutors from the Riverside County District Attorney's Office who will determine whether or not the neighbors will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
