Community Holds Benefit for Spinal Cord Injury Victim

This week in the state of Michigan, residents of Eastpointe held an event to help a local spinal cord injury victim.

In June 2010, Raoul VanHecke graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School.  Following his graduation, he was attending a campaign trip with his friends when he fell from a tree and landed inside of a fire pit.  As a result of his fall, he suffered serious burns as well as a spinal cord injury.

On Saturday, people from the community gathered together at Eastpointe Manor Banquet and Catering Hall to hold a benefit for Raoul and his family.

Raoul remains in the hospital at the University of Michigan Medical Center.  His family says that he should be able to return home in mid-November.  At this time, members of his family are working together to make their homes more accessible for him.

Did you suffer a spinal cord injury due to a number person's negligence?  If so, it may be a wise idea to hire a personal injury lawyer who can protect your rights.
