Dog Bites Officer in Iowa

In Waterloo, Iowa, police say that they were trying to apprehend a man who was resisting arrest.  To restrain him, they had to use a Taser.  Prior to the man arresting arrest, the man's dog had bit an officer.

According to Captain Tim Pillack, officer Eryn Hageman sustained a minor dog bite to her arm.  The entire incident unfolded this past Saturday.  Officer Hageman was bit by the man's dog after she arrived at his residence to look into a reported assault.

After biting the officer, the pit bull was seized.

Pillack told news sources that the man was shocked with a Taser after he continued to struggle with the officers who were trying to place him under arrest.  The man, whose last name is Clark, was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication, harassment and interference.   On Sunday, he posted his $3,400 bail amount and was released from police custody.
