When an off-duty police officer drove his car into a garbage truck and flipped onto the sidewalk in Midtown Manhattan, he injured three other people, one suffering from a broken arm. On February 13, 2010, the police officer caused the accident that also resulted in his car knocking down a tree and scratching the façade of the Tiffany & Company flagship store. The officer was charged with driving while intoxicated and will most likely be suspended for 30 days without pay.
