Weather Plays Role in Bike Accident

When auto meets bicycle, the larger vehicle tends to win as it did in Tallahassee, Florida last week. A bicyclist crossing Franklin Boulevard and Park Avenue around 10:30 PM did not have the right-of way when the truck, traveling west on Park, turned left onto Franklin and hit him.

Police told WCTV that they believe the bicyclist to have been in stable condition as he was responsive at the scene. However, he was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital to be checked out.

Although they do not have all the details yet, police do not believe that wet weather was a factor in this bicycle accident, although they do mention that the intersection is particularly dark at night. It is possible that they bike was already in the crosswalk when the blue truck hit him.

Although they aren't common, bicycle accidents do occur and can cause damage for both parties. Whether you are the bicyclist or the driver, you could be seeking damages for the accident, especially if it was not your fault.  To learn how you can seek compensation, it is advised that you hire a personal injury lawyer.
