58 Year Old Woman Dies during Motorcycle Accident

This Sunday, a woman from Wilkes County died after she lost control of her motorcycle on Blue Ridge Parkway. 

According to officials, the accident occurred at 1:45 PM near Milepost 277, which is just southwest of the parkway bridge. 

The motorcyclist, 58 year old Hendrix and he husband had been riding together, but on separate bikes when the motorcycle accident took place.  Hendrix had been riding a three-wheeler downhill in a curve when her bike overturned and landed on top of her.

Authorities arrived at the scene and called for a medical helicopter, but Hendrix died at the scene of the accident.  Her death is the fifth traffic fatality this year on the Blue Bridge Parkway.
