Car Wash Lawsuit Settles for $475,000

A premises liability lawsuit involving a fall at a car wash has been settled for $475,000 in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

The lawsuit was filed against a national car wash company after the victim fell between fiberglass flooring grates, cutting and injuring his leg.

The victim worked for a company that supplies products to the car wash industry. The accident took place when the victim came to the car wash for a service call.  Due to the chemicals and contaminants in the water on the floor, the victim developed a severe infection where he cut his leg. As a result the victim had to endure numerous medical procedures. The attorneys for the victim claim he has also suffered permanent disfigurement as a result of his injuries.

The lawsuit alleges the car wash company failed to provide a safe environment by having undetectable gaps in the flooring grates. The lawsuit also argues that the victim fell because he could not detect the gaps in the flooring, which could have been fixed at minimal cost to the owner.
