Settlement Reached for Chicago Airport Lawsuit

According to news sources, a case filed by an injured woman against the City of Chicago has reached a settlement.  The woman, Diane Sarkar, filed her lawsuit against the city after she was injured in O'Hare International Airport.

In her lawsuit, the Sarkar claims that she slipped and fell while walking through O'Hare Airport.  She alleged that there had been an oily surface on the floor of the airport, which causes her to slip and then fall.  She had been traveling to a medical conference when the accident occurred.

Sarkar says that she filed her personal injury lawsuit against the city for two reasons.  First, the Airport failed to clean up the oily surface that had caused her to slip.  Second, the Airport failed to warn travelers that the dangerous condition existed.  After falling, Sarkar sustained a broken knee cap and was not able to return to work for several months.  She recovered $800,000 in damages for her injuries and pain and suffering.
