Knox County Man Sues Law Enforcement Agencies

Just reported on WBIR.com - A Knox County man plans to sue law enforcement agencies throughout Blount County.  The man, Frank McBride, is suing law enforcement officials because he claims he was badly beaten while being placed under arrest and that he never received appropriate medical care.  He claims that the beatings caused him permanent brain damage and that he has had to go through continual therapy to learn how to speak normally again.

Mr. McBride accused law enforcement officers of repeatedly beating him and hitting him.  He said that he suffered numerous head injuries, lacerations and lost a great deal of blood.  Additionally, he claims that he went unconscious while a police officer named Chris Breazeale struck him in the head with a wood and metal object.

McBride plans to file criminal charges against Officer Breazeale because of the beatings and also because he repeatedly asked for medical care, but was denied over and over again.

According to WBIR.com, the victim is suing, "Blount County, the Blount County Sheriff's Office, Townsend, the Townsend Police Department, Blount County Sheriff James Berrong, Townsend Police Chief Ron Suttles, Townsend Police Officer William Allen, Townsend Police Officer Chris Breazeale, and others whose names are not yet known."

Mr. McBride is suing for $3 million in compensatory damages, $3 million in punitive damages and also his attorney's fees.
