Auto Accident Lawsuit Settles in Illinois

A personal injury lawsuit has been settled against a man who allegedly caused an auto accident in Illinois.

Lisa Longo claimed that Kris Lakin collided with her at an intersection in Alton, causing an auto accident that resulted in her injury. Longo alleges that the 2005 accident occurred when Lakin drove his Cadillac Escalade into the rear of her Pontiac Grand Prix. Longo claims she was stopped at red light when Lakin collided with her.

Lakin denied any wrongdoing.

Long was seeking more than $50,000 in damages for permanent internal and external injuries to the muscles, disks, ligaments, tissues, and nerves in her neck and back. Longo claims the injuries have caused her to suffer a great deal of pain, mental anguish, and medical expenses.

The case, which was scheduled to go to trial on Nov. 10, has been settled for an undisclosed amount.
